We’re building a network for women, LGBTQ+ and non-binary people in STEM. Our mission?
We’re here to spotlight the people and share space experiences and milestones shaping our journey to the stars—while creating a powerful, inclusive community for women in STEM, LGBTQ+ explorers, and non-binary space lovers.
Through media, storytelling, and immersive experiences, meetups and events, we’re redefining the space community and fostering connection, collaboration, and confidence!

We cover all things space with a fresh, inclusive perspective—bringing awareness to the public through news, interviews, and content that centers diverse voices in the space industry.
🌍 Community-Led Exploration
We organize meetups, group trips, and shared experiences at space events, rocket launches, and astronomy hotspots—giving women and LGBTQ+ travelers a safe and supportive space to explore their passion for space and travel.
📡 A Platform for Women in Space
We amplify stories and contributions in STEM and space from women,NB and LGBTQ+ people, ensuring their voices are heard in the broader space conversation.
✍️ Collaborative Content & Storytelling
Our blog and media platform offer community members the chance to contribute articles, event recaps, social media content and space news—helping them gain experience, build their credentials in media and creative spaces, and share their unique cosmic perspectives.
Historically, the space community have been male-dominated spaces, especially in space media and journalism. We’re changing that.

Meet the Crew
The Women Behind the Mission 🚀✨
Co-Founder
Rosie Johnson
Rosie Johnson is a space artist, creative strategist, and advocate for inclusivity in the space industry. As the Co-Founder of Her Cosmic Orbit, she created a woman-led space media platform and community to amplify the female perspective in the space community and foster a network for women in STEM, LGBTQ+, and non-binary explorers. Seeing the lack of representation and accessible opportunities in the space industry, she launched HCO to ensure that those who have been historically excluded have a space to connect, collaborate, and share their voices.
Her journey into the space community began in 2015, hosting nightly star parties at Tucson’s Sky Bar, the world’s first solar-powered astronomy bar. This experience re-ignited her passion for space outreach, leading her to transition in 2020 from a 14-year career as a fashion photographer to space media. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Art and a deep love for creative storytelling, she is on a mission to prove that individuality and self-expression belong in the space industry.
Rosie is also the Founder and Designer of PlanetExophilia, a space-inspired fashion brand that empowers humans to embrace their inner cosmic alien with bold statement pieces and far-out looks.
Co-Founder
Laura Holt
Laura Holt is a space advocate and enthusiast who lives for the thrill of a rocket launch and the hope for humanity shooting off to the stars. Since 2019, she has been traveling to launches, attending space centers and events, collecting historical memorabilia, and promoting STEM all while making great friends along the way. She met Rosie at a NASA Social in 2023 where the inspiration began growing. What started out as a hobby has turned into an all-consuming desire to contribute to the space industry in meaningful ways. Co-founding Her Cosmic Orbit was a natural next step.
With a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology she understands what it's like to be one of few women in a male dominated field. Her hope for this platform is to share her passion for human spaceflight to inspire a broader and more inclusive community.
